She was forced to marry the “billionaire pig” to pay off her family’s debts, but…

Clara was a young woman full of dreams, but imprisoned behind the bars of poverty.

The father had fallen into a gambling addiction and had sunk into debt amounting to 50 million pesos.

And what about the man to whom he owed money?

To none other than Don Sebastián “Baste” Montemayor.

Don Baste was known throughout the country not only for his wealth, but also for his appearance.

It weighed almost 300 pounds (about 140 kilograms).

Morbidly obese, he constantly sweated, had scars on his face, and was always seated in a motorized wheelchair because, according to rumors, his weight prevented him from walking.Behind his back, people cruelly called him “the Billionaire Pig”.

THE AGREEMENT

One night, Don Baste’s men showed up at Clara’s house.

“Pay the debt or you’ll go to prison,” the father threatened.

“We have no money!” shouted the father.

— Then I’ll give you my daughter! Clara! She’s young, beautiful, and hardworking! Marry her, Don Baste! Take her in exchange for my debt!

Clara’s eyes widened in terror.

– Father?! Are you selling me?!

But Clara had no choice.

To save her father’s life, she agreed to marry the man everyone feared.

The Wedding

On the wedding day, the guests couldn’t stop whispering.

Clara looked radiant and serene in her wedding dress, next to Don Baste, drenched in sweat, panting for air, and with a spaghetti stain on his tuxedo.

“Poor thing…” someone whispered.

— He’s only in this for the money.
— He must feel disgusted just thinking about sharing a bed with him.

Clara heard everything.

But she raised her chin, proudly.

He took out a handkerchief and gently wiped the sweat from Don Baste’s forehead.

“Are you alright, Don Baste?” he asked gently.
“Would you like some water?”

Don Baste stood motionless.

She expected disgust, but instead, she saw compassion.

— Water… — he whispered.

Throughout the entire ceremony, Clara stayed by his side.

When it was time for photographs, he didn’t turn away.

He held her hand: it was large, rough, and trembling.

PROOF

After the wedding, they were taken to Don Baste’s mansion.

“You’re sleeping on the sofa,” Baste ordered, already inside the room.
“I’m too big; you won’t be comfortable in the bed. And one more thing…”

Wash my feet before I fall asleep. And feed me.

Don Baste was putting her to the test.

He pretended to be lazy.

Disorganized.

Abrupt.

Cruel.

“This food is awful!” she shouted, throwing the plate down.
“You’re so slow! Rub my back!”

For three months, Clara became his caregiver.

And yet, he never complained.

“I’m sorry, Don Baste. I’ll try to do better tomorrow,” was always her kind reply.

Every night, while Baste slept (or pretended to sleep), Clara spoke softly while massaging his swollen feet.

“I know it’s good,” she whispered.
“Maybe you’re hurt by what they’re saying. Don’t worry. I’m here. I’m your wife. I’m not going anywhere.”

Baste listened to every word.

And beneath that thick “skin,” his heart gradually softened.

THE GRAND BENEFIT BALL

The night of the Grand Charity Ball arrived, the first time Baste would introduce Clara to high society.

He dressed her in a stunning red dress and very expensive jewelry.

He himself wore a tuxedo, which was still fitted to his enormous frame.

All eyes turned to them as they entered the hall.

A woman approached: Vanessa, Baste’s ex-girlfriend before he gained weight, according to the rumors. In reality, Vanessa was the one who had destroyed Baste’s confidence in women.

“My God, Sebastian,” Vanessa laughed.
“You’ve grown even more! Is this the woman you bought? How much did she cost? She looks like a fortune hunter.”

Vanessa’s friends laughed.

The perfect couple: the beast and the paid woman.

Baste lowered his head.

I expected Clara to cry.

That he should step away.

That he would feel ashamed.

But I was wrong.

Clara left her wheelchair and took a step forward.

“Excuse me,” she said firmly.
“Don’t call my husband a monster.”

Vanessa froze.

– Sorry?!

“Yes, he is big. Yes, he is not as ‘refined’ as your husbands,” Clara said, loud enough for everyone to hear.

But this man has a bigger heart than all of you put together. I married him because of a debt, I admit.

But I stayed because, for three months, I saw the kindness that so many people ignore because they only see appearances.

Clara placed her hand on Baste’s shoulder.

— I am proud to be Mrs. Montemayor. And I prefer to spend my life with this little pig than with artificial people like you.

The entire room fell silent.

Vanessa was humiliated.

Baste looked at Clara and saw courage, loyalty, and love.

She was the woman he had been waiting for.

— Clara — whispered Baste.
— Let’s go home.

THE TRUTH

Back at the mansion, Clara led Baste to his room.

“Would you like me to make you some tea, Don Baste?” she asked tenderly.

“No,” Baste replied.

His voice changed.

It was no longer hoarse or rough: it was deep, gentle, and undeniably captivating.

Clara… look at me.

Slowly, Baste rose from his wheelchair.

Clara was breathless.

Can you stand up?

“There are many things I can do, Clara,” he said with a smile.

She turned to the mirror, put her hand to the back of her neck and removed a thin strip of silicone.

Clara’s eyes widened.

Slowly, Baste began to undo the disguise.

She removed the prosthetic mask that had left her face scarred and swollen.

He removed the 50-kilogram layer of fat that covered his body.

He took off his bald wig.

Within minutes, the “Billionaire Pig” had disappeared.

Ahead of Clara stood a man in his thirties: tall, muscular, with striking features and extraordinarily handsome.

Sebastian Montemayor.

The real one.

Clara fell onto the bed, in shock.

— W-who are you?

Sebastian knelt before her and took her hands in his.

“It’s me, Clara. It’s always been me,” she said sweetly.

— B-but why? Why pretend?

“I was exhausted,” Sebastian confessed.
“All the women I’d met liked me for my looks and my money. When Vanessa betrayed me, I swore I’d never marry again until I found someone who loved my soul, not just my ‘skin.’”

His eyes filled with tears.

That’s why I put on a mask. I became a monster. I looked for a woman who could stand my smell, my weight, my anger.

— And that woman was you. Tonight you defended me. You loved me even when you thought I had nothing left to offer.

— Sebastian… — Clara whispered.

— You won the game, Clara. And, as a reward, I give you all my wealth, my heart, and my true self.

Clara hugged her husband.

Not because he was handsome.

But because their love had proven to be real.

EPILOGUE

The following morning, news of Don Baste’s “miraculous transformation” spread.

The world was shocked to see the incredibly attractive billionaire alongside his ordinary wife.

Vanessa, and even Clara’s own family, tried to approach her to ask for money, but security prevented them.

“The doors of this mansion are only open to those with a genuine heart,” Sebastian said in an interview.

Clara and Sebastian lived happily ever after.

Living proof that true beauty is not seen with the eyes — it is felt with the heart.
