Tesla says the new presses can produce an entire vehicle underbody in 90 seconds — and soon, full structural frames for compact and truck platforms as well.

Industry insiders are buzzing about what this means for upcoming models like the $11K Tesla Model 2 and the Cybertruck 2.0 refresh. Both vehicles are expected to be built using next-gen unibody gigacastings, a key to keeping prices low and production lightning fast.
Tesla’s ultimate goal? A fully automated, end-to-end manufacturing line, where cars are “printed” in modules — assembled with minimal human intervention.
