(TNND) — President Donald Trump went on an early Wednesday morning rant, insulting late-night host Stephen Colbert by saying he is a “dead man walking” and that CBS should “put him to sleep.”

“Stephen Colbert is a pathetic trainwreck, with no talent or anything else necessary for show business success,” Trump wrote just after midnight on Truth Social.
“Now, after being terminated by CBS, but left out to dry, he has actually gotten worse, along with his nonexistent ratings. Stephen is running on hatred and fumes ~ A dead man walking! CBS should, ‘put him to sleep,’ NOW, it is the humanitarian thing to do!”
Trump followed up by asking his followers which network has the worst late-night talk show host.

“Who has the worst Late Night host, CBS, ABC, or NBC??? They all have three things in common: High Salaries, No Talent, REALLY LOW RATINGS!” Trump questioned.
The president continued in his long-winded rant by suggesting networks could have their broadcast licenses pulled because of how their hosts talk about him on air.
“If Network NEWSCASTS, and their Late Night Shows, are almost 100% Negative to President Donald J. Trump, MAGA, and the Republican Party, shouldn’t their very valuable Broadcast Licenses be terminated? I say, YES!” Trump said.

The cancellation of “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” was announced in July, and Trump used the opportunity to criticize Colbert by saying his ” talent was even less than his ratings.” The program will end in May, at the conclusion of the next season.
“I absolutely love that Colbert’ got fired. His talent was even less than his ratings. I hear Jimmy Kimmel is next. Has even less talent than Colbert!” Trump wrote.
Kimmel was suspended by ABC for several days in September for comments he made about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin.
