Jimmy Kimmel is getting accused of lying again during his late-night return — this time claiming he never meant to blame any political faction for the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
“It was never my intention to make light of the murder of a young man,” Kimmel said during his Tuesday night monologue — the first since he was pulled off the air last week by ABC parent company Disney.
“Nor was it my intention to blame any specific group for the actions,” Kimmel said.

“It was obviously a deeply disturbed individual. That was really the opposite of the point I was trying to make … for those who think I did point a finger, I get why you’re upset.”
He added that he didn’t believe the alleged killer “represents anyone.”
“This was a sick person who believed violence was a solution, and it isn’t, ever,” Kimmel said.
But just last week, Kimmel directly tied Kirk’s murder to conservatives, blasting the “MAGA gang” during his Sept. 15 monologue.

“We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang trying to characterize this kid who killed Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel declared.
The sharp reversal has fueled charges that Kimmel is rewriting history to save his own career after ABC briefly pulled his show off the air.

His critics say the host’s claim of neutrality is flatly contradicted by his own words.
Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of “The Charlie Kirk Show,” blasted the monologue as “not good enough.”

He posted the apology Kimmel should have delivered: “I’m sorry for saying the shooter was MAGA. He was not. He was of the left. I apologize to the Kirk family for lying. Please accept my sincere apology. I will do better. I was wrong.”
Kolvet blasted the late-night host as a “liar” who smeared millions of Americans mourning Kirk’s assassination.
“Yes, Jimmy got emotional. So what,” Kolvet, Turning Point USA’s spokesman and a close friend of Kirk, wrote on X.
“He’s emotional for himself because he almost torched his entire career.”

Scott Jennings echoed the criticism, writing, “You used the phrase ‘MAGA gang’ & then lied about what happened. You definitely intended to make light of it and mislead the American people. Pathetic.”
“Look at Jimmy ‘The Martyr’ Kimmel fake crying tonight. Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender. DARVO playbook. This is what they do,” Jack Posobiec wrote on X. “In typical leftist fashion, Jimmy makes the victim himself.”
Dana Loesch slammed Kimmel for refusing to apologize.
“No apology. He wasn’t making a joke. He outright lied about the killer because he hated the politics of the victim. Jimmy Kimmel can pound sand,” she said.
Piers Morgan added: “Hard to feel sympathy for Jimmy Kimmel and his crocodile tears … He’s become a partisan political activist, not a comedic host.”
